Kiara Naturals Overview
Headquartered in the Swiss village of Gais, Kiara Naturals is a CBD brand founded in 2019.
Its founders have been formulating cannabis and other plant-based health products since 2005, with a strong focus on traditional herbal remedies. That’s why many of Kiara’s products contain medicinal herbs and mushrooms, such as ginger, ginseng, echinacea, elderberry, valerian, and reishi.
The company sources organic-certified hemp from local Swiss farms and extracts and formulates the products in a GMP-certified facility in Appenzellerland, a mountainous region in northeastern Switzerland.
The finished products are then tested by a third-party lab to verify their purity and levels of cannabinoids and terpenes. Kiara is also unique for shipping internationally for free (or at a low cost).
CBD Glossary
- Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.
Kiara Naturals CBD Product Lineup
Kiara Naturals has a fairly comprehensive product lineup that includes different types of CBD oil, capsules, topicals, and vape products. What makes the company’s products stand out is the addition of other botanical ingredients like herbs, mushrooms, and vitamins.
I received samples of the 30% CBD oil, pain relief tincture, and muscle & joint cream to test out.
CBD Oil
Kiara Naturals offers three types of CBD oil: full-spectrum CBD oil, full-spectrum CBG + CBD oil, and pure CBD oil. Third-party tests confirm that these CBD oils contain the right cannabinoids.
Full-Spectrum CBD Oil
CBD Potency | 100-300 mg/ml |
Volume | 10 ml |
Total CBD | 1000–3000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.05–0.06 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Kiara’s flagship product is its full-spectrum CBD oil, which is available in three high potencies: 10% (100 mg/ml), 20% (200 mg/ml), and 30% (300 mg/ml).
It would be nice to have more minor cannabinoids in this tincture, as the third-party tests show 8% and 10+% is preferred. But I like that the tincture is tested for terpenes, showing good levels.
My experience: I tried out the 30% oil, which had somewhat weak effects given the high potency. Still, it did help me sleep deeper.
Full-Spectrum CBG+CBD Oil
CBD/CBG Potency | 150 mg/ml |
Volume | 10 ml |
Total cannabinoids | 1500 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Additionally, Kiara Naturals offers full-spectrum CBD oils with high levels of cannabigerol (CBG), another beneficial minor cannabinoid. These 10 ml bottles contain 1000 mg of full-spectrum CBD with 500 mg of CBG, giving them a high potency of 150 mg/ml.
My experience: I took about half a dropper in the morning before a workout. I felt an improved mood, calm, and a small boost of energy, which I usually get from CBG products. The tincture has a standard full-spectrum hemp taste.
Pure CBD Oil
CBD Potency | 100-300 mg/ml |
Volume | 10 ml |
Total CBD | 1000–3000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.05–0.06 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Kirana Naturals also has a flavorless pure CBD isolate version of its regular full-spectrum oil. It comes in the same three strength options: 100, 200, or 300 mg/ml, for a total of 1000-3000 mg of pure CBD isolate.
Multi-Ingredient Tinctures
True to its claims, Kiara Naturals also offers alcohol-based tinctures infused with other medicinal herbs and mushrooms. These come in three formulations: pain, sleep & relax, and winter care.
Instead of being used under the tongue, they’re meant to be added to water or other beverages or taken on their own. This is one of the most unique CBD products I’ve come across.
Did you know? By definition, a tincture is any preparation where the active ingredient is dissolved in alcohol. But CBD products often use this term even when CBD is dissolved in oil.
Pain Relief Tincture
CBD Potency | 10 mg/ml |
Volume | 100 ml |
Total CBD | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.08 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | Not available |
The pain relief tincture contains CBD blended with alcohol and five medicinal herbs: ginger, corydalis yanhusuo, angelica sinensis, angelica arc, and zanthoxylum. These herbs have a long history of traditional use and have shown pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects in research studies (1).
The tincture has a low CBD potency and is meant to be used in larger doses.
My experience: I took five full droppers when I felt sick and sore from working out but I didn’t feel that much relief. The tincture has a strong taste from the alcohol, so mixing it in water or another beverage is ideal.
Sleep & Relax Tincture
CBD Potency | 10 mg/ml |
Volume | 100 ml |
Total CBD | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.08 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Like the pain tincture, the sleep and relax tincture contains 1000 mg of pure CBD alongside four research-backed herbs traditionally used to relieve anxiety and promote sleep: valerian (2), California poppy, hops, and ziziphus jujuba. I like the multi-ingredient formula, but it would be better with full-spectrum CBD.
My experience: I took ten full droppers (the highest recommended dose) 30 minutes before bed. The tincture has a very strong alcohol taste, so it’s better to mix it in water or another drink. I did feel a bit more sleepy, but the effects were fairly weak.
Winter Care Tincture
CBD Potency | N/A |
Volume | 100 ml |
Total CBD | N/A |
Cost per mg CBD | N/A |
Type | N/A |

Kiara Naturals’ winter care tincture is designed to boost immunity. It doesn’t contain CBD but carries seven research-backed immunity-boosting and pathogen-fighting ingredients: echinacea (3), elderberry, thyme, ginger, baptisia tinctoria (wild indigo), and bee propolis.
My experience: I used this tincture to boost my immune system during a winter trip to Japan. I took it for several days in a row and then again when I felt a sore throat coming on. It mostly worked, but I did catch what I think was Covid at the end of my trip. The tincture does have a strong alcohol/herbal taste, though.
Capsules
Kiara Naturals also offers two types of multi-ingredient herbal capsules: brain boost and body boost.
CBD Brain Boost Capsules
CBD/CBG Potency | 20 mg |
Capsule Count | 60 |
Total CBD/CBG | 1200 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate (CBD+CBG) |
Third-Party Test | Not available |
Kiara Naturals’ brain boost capsules are another unique product.
It combines 20 mg of pure CBD and CBG with five research-backed herbs meant to improve focus, memory, and overall cognitive performance: korean ginseng, bacopa monnieri (4), passionflower, ginger, licorice, and gotu kola. There are a total of 60 capsules per bottle.
Body Boost Capsules
CBD Potency | N/A |
Capsule Count | 60 |
Total CBD | N/A |
Cost per mg | N/A |
Type | N/A |
Third-Party Test | N/A |
Meanwhile, the body boost capsules are free of CBD and formulated with five herbs that boost stress resistance and immune function: reishi mushroom (5), Siberian ginseng, ginger, ashwagandha, and astragalus.
CBD Topicals
Kiara Naturals offers three topical products: a salve and two creams. Each is designed for a specific purpose.
CBD Muscle and Joint Salve
CBD Potency | 20 mg/ml |
Volume | 50 ml |
Total CBD | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.07 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | Not available |
The muscle and joint salve is formulated to alleviate pain. It has a reasonably high CBD potency for a topical (20 mg/ml) and contains herbs used for pain and inflammation, including arnica oil, common rue oil, andiroba, camphor (6), hypericum, menthol, and rosemary.
My experience: The salve has a refreshing minty fragrance and feels greasy on the fingers. After working out, I applied it to my sore knees and felt cooling relief within a few minutes. I gave it to a friend with arthritis, and she said it was helpful.
CBD Dermacure Cream
CBD/CBG Potency | 40 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD/CBG | ~1200 mg (CBD+CBG) |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate (CBD+CBG) |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Meanwhile, the dermacure cream is designed to help with psoriasis, eczema, and other inflammatory skin issues.
It contains ~1200 mg of pure CBD and CBG alongside herbal ingredients that reduce inflammation and promote skin repair: Indigofera, Menthol, Centella Asiatica, Scutellaria, Coptis, Vitamin E, and Stellaria media. I like this topical’s high potency, low price, and multi-ingredient formula.
My experience: I used this cream to help with seborrheic dermatitis flare-ups on my face and scalp. I saw improvement after three days, so I was happy with the results. The cream has a paste color and watery consistency, leaving a refreshing feeling on the face. But it is a bit messy to use; the clay dries up and it’s easy to spill and use too much.
CBD Skin Aid Cream
CBD Potency | 33 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | Not available |
Finally, the skin aid cream contains 1000 mg of pure CBD plus herbal ingredients meant to repair the skin and reduce blemishes and scarring: Aloe Vera Gel, Stellaria media, Hypericum, Obliphica, Echinacea, Coptis, Vitamin-E, Lavender, and Boswellia.
CBD Distillate Vape Kit
CBD Potency | ~55% |
Volume | 1 ml |
Total CBD | ~550 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.13 ($0.06-0.07 for refills) |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
If you’re interested in vaping CBD for instant, powerful effects, Kiara Naturals offers a reusable vape pen made with full-spectrum CBD distillate. It comes with a 1 ml pod containing 550 mg of full-spectrum CBD distillate, a CCell 510-thread battery, and a USB charger.
I also like that it contains significant amounts of minor cannabinoids, like a proper full-spectrum product. Kiara also sells 550 mg refill vape pods; buying two or three pods gets you greater savings.
My experience: The battery is compact and light, so it’s easy to take with you. The magnetic mechanism allows you to pop the pod in easily. The effects were great, too; I felt relaxed, calm, and upbeat after a few puffs. But there is one downside; the vape leaked all over the place regardless of how I stored it (standing up or lying down) and I ran out of juice quickly because of that.
Product Kits
Kiara also sells bundles of multiple products at reduced prices (~30% off), like the chronic relief kit combining the 10% full-spectrum CBD oil, pain tincture, and vape.
Price
The easiest way to compare the prices of different CBD products to see if you’re getting a good deal is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1500 mg CBD oil that costs $100, its price per mg would be 100/1500 = $0.07.
For Kiara Naturals, these prices are close to or slightly below the market average:
- $0.05–0.06 per mg for CBD oil
- $0.05 per mg for capsules
- $0.05–0.07 per mg for topicals
- $0.13 per mg for a reusable vape pen
I’m particularly impressed by the company’s brain boost capsules and topicals, which provide many additional herbal ingredients at a great price. All in all, you’re getting a good deal with Kiara Naturals.

Hemp Source and Extraction Process
Kiara Naturals sources its products from organic hemp grown in Switzerland. Bio Suisse, the country’s leading organic agriculture organization, certified this hemp. You can see the certification with more details (like the exact farm where the hemp is grown) in this document.
Kiara Naturals then uses carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction to isolate CBD and other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes from the hemp in its GMP-certified facility in the Swiss alpine region of Appenzellerland.
This method is widely used in the CBD industry because of its safety, effectiveness, and environmental friendliness.
Third-Party Testing
Kiara Naturals’ CBD products are tested by CBD Test, a Swiss third-party cannabis testing lab. The potency tests show the levels of CBD, other cannabinoids, and even terpenes in the company’s products, confirming that they’re accurate.
Meanwhile, the contaminant tests verify the lack of heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides, and toxins.
Kiara summarizes the test results in an easy-to-read document that’s available on every product page. I’m a big fan of this setup because it’s easy to understand even if you’re not familiar with certificates of analysis (COAs). You can also see the original test results by scanning the QR codes.
Third-Party Test Results
I always look at third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe and accurate products. I check:
- The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (7)
- The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG and CBC
- The levels of terpenes
- The levels of THC
- Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
- Whether there are any contaminants
Here’s a closer look at two test report CoA summaries:
- The 10% full-spectrum CBD oil, which shows multiple cannabinoids and terpenes, and 10.5% CBD, which is only 5% higher. But the minor cannabinoids are a tad low at 8% (I prefer at least 10%).
- The CBD+CBG oil, which should have 5% CBG/10% CBD and actually had 5.4% and 10.9%, which is only 8% and 9% higher, plus other minor cannabinoids and terpenes.
These potency results are solid and up-to-date, confirming that the products contain the right amount and type of CBD extracts. The contaminant tests also show clean results.
The only downside is that the detailed reports are not yet available for all products.
Shipping & Returns
Kiara Naturals is one of the few brands that ship CBD products internationally. It offers free 2-4 day shipping for the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, and free 5-10 day shipping to Canada and the United States. It’s also one of the only CBD companies that ship to Australia, with free delivery for over $49.
For other countries, there’s a standard shipping cost of $9.99-15 with a delivery time of 8-20 days, although free shipping is available for orders over $160.
The packages are discreet and make no mention of CBD. Kiara Naturals also has a 60-day refund policy if you’re dissatisfied with your product or if it’s damaged or missing.
I had no problems receiving shipments in two different countries: Greece and Thailand.
Customer Service & Reputation
Despite being a relatively young company, Kiara Naturals has many positive customer reviews on its website, Facebook, and Google. These reviews frequently mention the company’s excellent customer service and effective products.
The company also answered all of my questions promptly via email, and I appreciate the transparency shown by the third-party test reports and details about the production process.
The Verdict: Solid Brand With Room to Improve
Kiara Naturals is a solid brand but doesn’t quite live up to the high-quality reputation of Swiss products. Still, I did like its CBG oil, topicals, and immunity tincture.
The company uses an impressive range of evidence-based, time-tested herbs and mushrooms that work in combination with CBD. Kiara Naturals’ prices are also below average, especially considering the cheap or free shipping options. And I’m a big fan of their third-party CoA report summary.
Having said that, the company has room to improve:
- The CBD oil was too weak. I’d like to see higher minor cannabinoid levels
- The multi-ingredient pain and sleep tinctures were quite weak, and the vape leaking was dissappointing
- The third-party test results need to be available for all products
- It would be nice to see standard CBD capsules and gummies added
