Bloom Hemp Overview
Bloom Hemp is a CBD company hailing from Colorado, the heartland of America’s cannabis industry. The company was founded by entrepreneur Thomas Schnakenberg in 2018, shortly after the Farm Bill made hemp federally legal.
The company offers CBD oil, capsules, topicals, isolates, pet products, and CBD-free hemp seed foods. Its CBD products are sourced from USDA-certified organic hemp grown on a small family farm in Colorado.
Better yet, they go through extensive third-party testing for potency, contaminants, and even terpenes.
CBD Terminology
- Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with a wide variety of beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD may be about 4 times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD with all other hemp compounds removed.
Bloom Hemp CBD Product Lineup
Bloom Hemp offers popular CBD product types, including full-spectrum tinctures, topicals, capsules, and pet products, as well as pure isolate powder for CBD, CBG, and CBN.
The company also sells hemp seed food products.
CBD Tinctures
Bloom Hemp offers three types of CBD tinctures:
- USDA organic-certified full-spectrum CBD oil
- Zero THC (broad-spectrum) CBD oil
- Full-spectrum CBD tinctures infused with other active botanical ingredients
Bloom Hemp Full Spectrum CBD Tincture

CBD Potency | 20-40 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 600-1200 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.06–0.09 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Flavors | Natural, citrus |
Our Rating | 3.5/5 |
Bloom Hemp’s full-spectrum CBD oil is certified organic by the USDA, which is a big deal as this certification is still difficult to get for hemp companies.
It comes in 30 ml bottles with two strengths: regular (20 mg/ml) and strong (40 mg/ml) and two flavors (natural or citrus). This tincture is a little low on minor cannabinoids.
Bloom Hemp Zero THC Natural Tincture

CBD Potency | 20-40 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 600-1200 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.06–0.09 |
Type | Isolate |
Flavors | Unflavored |
Our Rating | 4/5 |
As the name suggests, this CBD oil is free of THC. It’s made with pure CBD isolate and comes in the same two strength options the full-spectrum tinctures: 20 mg/ml and 40 mg/ml.
But I’m not sure why Bloom Hemp says it’s blended with broad-spectrum hemp extract, as its third-party tests don’t show any other cannabinoids except CBD and trace amounts of one terpene.
Bloom Hemp Essential Tinctures

CBD Potency | 33 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 1200 mg + 100 mg CBG/CBN |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.07 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Formulas | Calming, digestive, recovery |
Our Rating | 4.5/5 |
Bloom Hemp’s essential tinctures take an innovative approach to CBD oil by higher amounts of the minor cannabinoids CBN or CBG as well as other active ingredients.
These full-spectrum tinctures come in three formulas:
- Calming (for sleep & stress): 1200 mg of CBD, 100 mg of CBN, a specific blend of terpenes, and popular sleep-supporting herbs: lavender, lemon balm, california poppy, and hops.
- Digestive: 200 mg of CBD, 100 mg of CBG, a terpene blend, and three botanicals that can aid digestion: coriander, brown cumin, and fennel.
- Recovery (for pain and inflammation): 1200 mg of CBD, 100 mg of CBG, a blend of terpenes, and anti-inflammatory herbs: turmeric, black cumin seed, and ginger. It also contains black pepper extract (Bioperine) to enhance the absorption of turmeric and other ingredients.
Thanks to the unique formulations, these tinctures are a great choice when you’re looking for specific benefits.
CBD Capsules
Bloom Hemp offers both full-spectrum and THC-free, broad-spectrum softgels.
Bloom Hemp Full-Spectrum Natural Sofgels

CBD Potency | 25 mg |
Capsule Count | 30 |
Total CBD | 750 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.09 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Our Rating | 4.5/5 |
These full-spectrum softgels provide 25 mg of CBD with 30 capsules per bottle. Third-party tests confirm that they contain significant amounts of minor cannabinoids and terpenes, which is a great sign.
Bloom Hemp Zero THC Natural Softgels

CBD Potency | 25 mg |
Capsule Count | 30 |
Total CBD | 750 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.09 |
Type | Broad-spectrum |
Our Rating | 4/5 |
These capsules are a THC-free version of Bloom Hemp’s full-spectrum softgels. They’re made with broad-spectrum hemp extract so you’re still getting most of hemp’s beneficial compounds.
CBD Topicals
Bloom Hemp has five different topical products designed for different goals, including lotions, balms, and roll-ons.
Bloom Hemp Zero THC Relief Balm

CBD Potency | 3-17 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 100-500 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.10-0.30 |
Type | Isolate |
Our Rating | 3/5 |
This 30 ml balm contains 100 or 500 mg of CBD blended with beeswax, jojoba, emu, almond, and other oils.
Although Bloom Hemp claims this cream is made with broad-spectrum hemp extract, the third-party tests show only trace amounts of minor cannabinoids and terpenes. As such, it’s more likely that this balm is made with pure CBD isolate.
Bloom Hemp Restorative Lotion

CBD Potency | 3-17 mg/ml |
Volume | 50 ml |
Total CBD | 500 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.10-0.30 |
Type | Full-spectrum or isolate |
Our Rating | 3/5 |
This lotion provides 500 mg of CBD combined with coconut oil, aloe vera, vitamin E, and other common moisturizing skincare ingredients. It’s available in both full-spectrum and THC-free versions.
However, the third-party tests did not find any THC in the full-spectrum lotion, which should be present. Similarly, the THC-free lotion didn’t show other cannabinoids or terpenes on the tests, disproving the fact that it’s broad-spectrum.
Bloom Hemp Essential Roll On

CBD Potency | 20 mg/ml |
Volume | 10 ml |
Total CBD | 200 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.10 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Formula | Morning or evening |
Our Rating | 4/5 |
Bloom Hemp’s Essential roll-on comes in two varieties: morning and evening. Both contain 200 mg of full-spectrum CBD and a blend of terpenes.
The morning roll on includes two invigorating herbs: peppermint and rosemary. This topical product is designed to help you wake up and refresh your mind.
Meanwhile, the evening version is designed to help you relax and get ready for bed. It contains three calming, sleep-promoting herbs: ylang ylang, bergamot, and lavender.
CBD Concentrates
If you prefer to save money on CBD or want to make your own preparations, then you might like Bloom Hemp’s isolate powders. These come in 1-gram containers with three cannabinoid options: CBD, CBG, and CBN.
Bloom Hemp CBD Pure Isolate Powder

CBD Potency | 99+% |
Total CBD | ~1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.02 |
Type | Isolate |
Our Rating | 5/5 |
This is a straightforward 1-gram CBD isolate powder. Third-party tests confirm that it contains over 99% pure CBD with a trace amount of CBDV, a cannabinoid that’s often present in small quantities in isolates because it has a similar chemical structure to CBD.
Bloom Hemp CBN Pure Isolate Powder

CBN Potency | 94+% |
Total CBN | ~1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.07 |
Type | Isolate |
Our Rating | 4.5/5 |
This is a cannabinol (CBN) version of isolate powder. Cannabinol is a minor cannabinoid believed to work particularly well for promoting sleep, so most people use it to help them get a good night’s rest.
Third-party tests show that this powder contains about 94.7% CBN and 0.5% of delta-8 THC. That’s a fairly good result since CBN isolate is harder to formulate and comes from the degradation of THC.
Bloom Hemp CBG Pure Isolate Powder

CBG Potency | 96+% |
Total CBG | ~1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBG | $0.04 |
Type | Isolate |
Our Rating | 5/5 |
This 1-gram isolate contains cannabigerol (CBG), another minor cannabinoid that’s growing in popularity.
The third-party tests show that this powder contains almost 97% CBG without any other cannabinoids, which is a great result.
CBD Pet Products
If you’re looking to support the health of your four-legged companion with CBD, Bloom Hemp has you covered. The company offers a dog CBD tincture, hip & joint tablets, CBD vitamins, and even CBD-infused elk antler for dogs.
Bloom Hemp Dog CBD Tincture

CBD Potency | 4.5-11 mg/ml |
Volume | 59 ml |
Total CBD | 265-665 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.10–0.12 |
Type | Broad-spectrum |
Flavors | Natural, citrus |
Our Rating | 4/5 |
This dog-friendly CBD oil is made with THC-free broad-spectrum hemp extract. It’s formulated with salmon oil and comes in two strengths: 265 mg for small dog breeds (below 40 lb) and 665 mg for larger dogs (over 40 lb).
While I like this pet tincture, it would be better if it contained more minor cannabinoids.
Bloom Hemp CBD Hip & Joint Tablets for Pets

CBD Potency | 2.5 mg |
Tablet Count | 30-60 |
Total CBD | 75-150 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.37-0.40 |
Type | Isolate |
Added Ingredients | Chondroitin, MSM, glucosamine |
Our Rating | 4/5 |
These CBD tablets are designed to support canine joint health. Each piece contains 2.5 mg of CBD alongside three natural, research-backed joint supplements: chondroitin, MSM, and glucosamine.
Although Bloom Hemp claims that these tablets are made with broad-spectrum hemp extract, their third-party tests show only CBD.
Bloom Hemp CBD Daily Vitamins for Pets

CBD Potency | 2.5 mg |
Tablet Count | 30-60 |
Total CBD | 75-150 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.29-0.33 |
Type | Isolate |
Added Ingredients | Vitamins & minerals |
Our Rating | 3/5 |
Similar to the joint tablets, these daily vitamins contain 2.5 mg of pure CBD. They also contain vitamins A, C, E, and biotin, and the minerals zinc and magnesium.
Again, while Bloom Hemp lists broad-spectrum hemp extract as an ingredient, the third-party tests show only pure CBD.
Bloom Hemp CBD Infused Elk Antler for Dogs

CBD Potency | 20-40 mg |
Tablet Count | 20-60 |
Total CBD | 20-40 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.68-1.15 |
Type | Broad-spectrum |
Our Rating | 2/5 |
These real, cruelty-free elk antlers come in three CBD strengths: 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg. Unfortunately, this product is somewhat gimmicky as there are far better ways to give your pooch CBD. On top of that, there are no third-party tests posted to verify the CBD content.
Price
The easiest way to compare the prices of different CBD products to see if you’re getting a good deal is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1500 mg CBD oil that costs $100, its price per mg would be 100/1500 = $0.07.
Bloom Hemp’s prices are pretty close to the average market price for different types of products:
- $0.06–0.09 per mg of CBD for CBD oil
- $0.09 for capsules
- $0.10-0.30 for topicals
- $0.02-0.04 for isolates
- $0.10–0.12 for pet CBD oil
This is pretty standard but you can certainly find lower prices from other reputable brands.
Hemp Source and Extraction Process
Bloom Hemp’s products are sourced from USDA-certified organic hemp grown on a 60-acre family-owned farm in Longmont, Colorado.
The farm uses sustainable farming methods, such as crop rotation and cover cropping, and the hemp itself is trimmed by hand.
Bloom Hemp uses the ethanol extraction process to extract CBD, which is one of the two main methods of isolating CBD and other active ingredients from hemp. This method is safe and effective.
Did you know? The reason why only some of Bloom Hemp’s products have the USDA organic seal is that many of its products contain one or a few ingredients that aren’t organic-certified. You can only show the seal if all of the ingredients are certified organic by the USDA.
Third-Party Testing
Bloom Hemp’s products are independently tested by Botanacor, one of the most reputable CBD testing labs in the country.
These comprehensive tests include potency and purity testing. The potency tests make sure the products contain the right amount and type of CBD and other cannabinoids, while the purity tests check for pesticides, heavy metals, and other potential contaminants.
Additionally, many of Bloom Hemp’s products are tested for terpenes, which is quite rare. That’s a great sign because you can confirm that you’re getting a full-spectrum product with a significant concentration of terpenes.
You can see the latest test results posted directly on every product page. You can also use your product lot number to look up the results.
Third-Party Test Results

I always check third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe and effective products. In particular, I check for:
- CBD levels (should be within 10% of the labeled amount, according to experts) (3)
- THC levels
- Contaminants
- The levels of minor cannabinoids and terpenes (the more, the better)
Most of the tests showed that Bloom Hemp’s products contain as much CBD as they should, which is great news.
For example, the above test results for the natural 1200 mg full-spectrum tincture showed about 1258 mg of CBD, which is only 5% higher. Similarly, the full-spectrum restorative lotion showed 475 mg of CBD on the tests, which is 5% lower than the advertised amount of 500 mg.
But a few of the products contain significantly more CBD than they should. One test of the calming tincture showed about 1612 mg of CBD instead of the advertised 1200 mg, which is 34% higher.
Similarly, a test for the full-spectrum capsules showed 37 mg of CBD per softgel instead of the advertised 25 mg, which is almost 50% higher. While it’s nice to get more CBD than you paid for, these are fairly large differences so it’s not a great result.
I also found that some products don’t contain the correct type of CBD. For example, the zero THC tincture and balm are claimed to contain broad-spectrum hemp extract but the tests only found CBD and trace amounts of terpenes.
Overall, most of Bloom Hemp’s products carry the advertised amount and type of CBD and I also like that the tests are comprehensive, even including terpenes in some cases.
However, the company needs to improve its product accuracy since I found notable discrepancies in the CBD content and extract type of some products.
Shipping & Returns
Bloom Hemp ships throughout the United States and offers free shipping on orders over $99. However, the company doesn’t state its return policy.
Customer Service & Reputation
Bloom Hemp isn’t a widely known brand. Still, the dozens of customer reviews on its website are positive, with most customers rating the products 5 out of 5 stars.
When I emailed the company with a question, I got a helpful response within a day. Overall, Bloom Hemp looks like a brand you can trust, even though it has room to improve.
My Verdict: Decent Brand With a High-Quality Hemp Source
Bloom Hemp gets my vote of confidence. I like the company’s USDA organic hemp source and wide product variety. Most people will be able to find a product that suits their preferences and dosage needs. And although you can find cheaper brands, the prices are reasonable.
Still, Bloom Hemp does have some things to work on.
I’d like to see more product strengths, particularly for CBD oils and capsules. Bloom Hemp also needs to improve its product accuracy, since third-party tests show high CBD levels or the wrong type of CBD extract in some products.
