South Carolina’s Harmony CBD is a transparent brand with a diverse product lineup that even includes vape oils and skincare options. As a vertically integrated company, it controls every step of the CBD manufacturing process, starting with USDA-certified organic hemp.

Harmony CBD is a trustworthy, eco-friendly brand option for organic CBD formulas. But it needs to offer more potent products.

  • Vertically integrated CBD brand
  • Organic, eco-friendly hemp source
  • Several USDA-organic products
  • Comprehensive third-party testing
  • Wide selection of full-spectrum, organic CBD products

  • Lacks high-potency products
  • Products contain low levels of terpenes
  • Some products contain low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids

Overall Rating: 4.2/5

Products 4/5
Harmony’s product variety is impressive but it’s lacking high-potency varieties of its CBD oils, capsules, and some other products.
Price & Value 3/5
Aside from the gummies, most of the product prices are close to or above average.
Hemp Quality 5/5
Harmony grows its own USDA organic hemp with sustainable farming methods in South Carolina. I can’t ask for a better hemp source.
Third-Party Testing 4/5
Each product comes with detailed potency and purity third-party tests (including terpenes). But many products contain no terpenes or low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids.
Customer Service & Reputation 5/5
Harmony is a transparent brand with over 1000 satisfied customer reviews on the independent review site Trustpilot. It’s also been around for 6 years, which is a long time in the CBD industry.

Harmony CBD Overview

Harmony CBD (previously known as Palmetto Harmony) was founded in 2015 by Janel Ralph. The company offers third-party tested full-spectrum CBD oils, softgels, gummies, topicals, and pet products, most of which are USDA-certified organic.

Harmony’s origins are rooted in a mother’s concern for her daughter’s health rather than profits. Janel Ralph wanted to naturally treat her daughter Harmony’s seizures, so she embarked on extensive research, which led her to CBD.

Harmony is a vertically integrated hemp CBD company. That means it controls the entire production process, growing the hemp, extracting it, and manufacturing the finished CBD products.

Harmony grows USDA-certified organic hemp with regenerative agricultural practices at its hemp farm and extraction/manufacturing facility in Conway, South Carolina. The company is also big on transparency; it’s one of the only CBD brands to offer tours of their farm and manufacturing facilities.

In 2019, Harmony CBD merged with Re Botanicals, another CBD brand that focuses on sustainable, organic, eco-friendly practices.

CBD Glossary

  • Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
  • Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
  • Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
  • Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
  • Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
  • CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.

Harmony CBD Product Lineup

Harmony’s comprehensive CBD product line includes CBD oil tinctures, softgels, gummies, vape oils, topicals, weight loss products, and pet options. Most of the products are certified organic by the USDA.

CBD Hemp Oils

harmony cbd oil

CBD Potency20 mg/ml
Volume30-946 ml (32 oz)
Total CBD600–2000 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.05–$0.13
Third-Party TestView report

The hallmark product of Harmony is its CBD hemp oil tinctures. Certified organic by the USDA, they have a medium-level strength of 20 mg CBD per ml. They’re available in orange and unflavored options and three bottle sizes: 30 ml (600 mg CBD), 100 ml (2000 mg CBD), or 32 oz (18.8g of CBD).

These oils are pretty good but I’d like to see higher strength options. The terpene levels are also somewhat low; I only see a single terpene on the latest third-party test.

CBD Topicals

Harmony’s topical products include four standard categories to suit different needs: balms, lotions, body oils, and muscle rubs.

CBD Balms

harmony cbd balm

CBD Potency5 mg/ml
Volume60 ml (2 oz)
Total CBD300 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.12
Third-Party TestView report

Harmony’s balms combine 300 mg of full-spectrum CBD with shea butter and various essential oils and herbs. You can choose from three varieties:

  1. Relief, infused with frankincense
  2. Heal, with calendula
  3. Calm, with lavender

These balms are certified organic by the USDA and free of fragrances. While I like the ingredients, the CBD potency is a bit low; I want to see a stronger version like 600 mg CBD. The levels of THC and minor cannabinoids also need to be higher.

CBD Lotions

harmony cbd lotion

CBD Potency3 mg/ml
Volume100 ml (3.4 oz)
Total CBD300 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.10
Third-Party TestView report

The CBD lotions use a similar formula to the balms, but with more ingredients because lotions are water-based. Again, you can choose from relief (frankincense), heal (calendula), and calm (lavender) formulas, with an additional unscented option.

Each 100 ml lotion has 300 mg of full-spectrum CBD. Like the balms, these lotions contain relatively low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids and need to have a stronger option.

CBD Body Oil

harmony cbd body oil

CBD Potency20-50 mg/ml
Volume10 ml
Total CBD200-500 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.07-$0.10
Third-Party TestView report

Body oils are a good option for hands-free relief of muscle or joint pain, especially if you’re on the go.

Harmony CBD has four formulations, each with different additional ingredients: lavender, peppermint, ginger lime, and mandarin turmeric.

Each USDA-organic oil comes in a 10 ml rollerball bottle with 200 mg of full-spectrum CBD and two 500 mg extra-strength versions.

I like these oils because they have relatively high CBD potency, affordable prices, and added anti-inflammatory & pain-relieving ingredients.

CBD Muscle Rub

harmony cbd muscle rub

CBD Potency6.7 mg/ml
Volume89 ml
Total CBD600 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.06
Third-Party TestView report

It’s hard to beat the reliability of menthol for topical pain relief. This muscle rub combines menthol with 600 mg of full-spectrum CBD. And I like the cheap price and convenient application. It should work great for occasional pain and soreness.

CBD Softgels

harmony cbd softgels

CBD Potency10 mg
Capsule Count7-60
Total CBD70-600 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.15-0.29
Third-Party TestView report

Like most CBD brands, Harmony offers CBD softgels. Each contains 10 mg of full-spectrum CBD dissolved in coconut MCT oil. There’s even a suppository version with 7 softgels.

I’d like to see a higher potency version of the softgels because 10 mg is relatively low.

CBD Gummies

harmony cbd gummies

Potency25-30 mg
Gummy Count30
Total cannabinoids750-900 mg
Cost per mg $0.03-0.09
TypeIsolate (CBG+CBG/CBN)
Third-Party TestView report

Harmony CBD offers 30-count bottles of vegan gummies in four formulations:

  • Sleep 30 mg gummies flavored with orange and containing melatonin and cannabinol (CBN), the minor cannabinoid touted for its sleep-promoting effects
  • Focus, apple-flavored 30 mg gummies with vitamin B12, green tea extract, and the minor cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Gut health 30 mg gummies flavored with lemon and infused with CBG, apple cider vinegar, and probiotics
  • Weight management 25 mg gummies flavored with mango an containing CBD, green tea extract, and THCV

I’m a fan of the specialized formulations and good price.

Delta-9 THC Gummies

THC Potency25mg
Gummy Count5
Total THC125 mg
Cost per mg $0.16
Third-Party TestN/A

Harmony’s delta-8 THC gummies have a high strength of 25 mg. You can also buy them bundled together with a THC vape.

CBD Skincare

harmony cbd skincare products

CBD Potency6-20 mg/ml
Volume15-50 ml
Total CBD300 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.08-0.14
Third-Party TestView report

Harmony offers two CBD skincare products:

  • Lavender Night Cream
  • Mango Hydrating Oil

Each contains 300 mg of CBD in a 15 ml or 50 ml container, alongside other ingredients you’d expect.

While I like the idea of mixing CBD into your skincare routine, I don’t think it’s fair to call these products full-spectrum as they only contain CBD and a little THC without any minor cannabinoids (according to the third-party tests).

CBD Vape Products

Harmony sells full-spectrum CBD vape oil, a vape device, and pre-filled cartridges. You must be 21 years old to purchase these products.

Aura CBD Vape Oil

harmony cbd vape oil

CBD Potency10 mg/ml
Volume15-30 ml
Total CBD150-300 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.13-$0.16
Third-Party TestView report

Harmony sells unflavored full-spectrum CBD vape oil made with only vegetable glycerin (VG). This vape oil is unique as it’s one of the only ones on the market to have the USDA organic label.

The minor cannabinoid profile of this vape juice is nice but the tests didn’t detect any terpenes, which should be present in a full-spectrum product.

But the bigger problem here is the low CBD potency (10 mg/ml). That strength will simply be too low for most people to feel anything.

Aura Vape Cartridge

harmony cbd vape

CBD Potency10 mg
Volume?? (2 cartridges)
Total CBD20 mg
Cost per mg CBD$1.00
Third-Party TestUnavailable

Harmony also sells a CBD vape device for $49.99 with two pre-filled CBD cartridges containing 10 mg of CBD each. You can also buy the pre-filled cartridges separately for when you run out.

Again, the key problem here is that the CBD potency is far too low. It’s also quite expensive.

CBD Oil for Pets

harmony pet cbd oil

CBD Potency10 mg/ml
Volume30-60 ml
Total CBD300-600 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.13
Third-Party TestView report

Formulated specifically for pets, these oils come in 30 ml and 60 ml bottles, giving them a potency of 10 mg per ml. They’re also certified organic by the USDA.

I’d prefer to see a higher CBD potency version added (15 or 20 mg/ml).

Price & Value

The easiest way to compare CBD product value is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1500 mg CBD oil that costs $50, its price per milligram (mg) of CBD would be 50/1500 = $0.03 or 3 cents.

On top of that, different CBD product categories (oils, capsules, gummies, etc.) vary in price. Here’s the breakdown of Harmony’s prices:

  • CBD oil: $0.05–$0.13
  • Capsules: $0.15-0.29
  • Gummies: $0.03-0.09
  • Topicals: $0.06-$0.12
  • Skincare: $0.08-0.14
  • Pet products: $0.13
  • Vape oil: $0.13

Most of these prices are average or more expensive than average, although the gummies, topicals, and skincare products are cheap. Overall, you’re getting a fairly average value with Harmony.

Hemp Source and Production Process

Harmony CBD is a vertically-integrated brand, which means it does the hemp cultivation, extraction, and manufacturing of the finished CBD products. Everything is done at the company’s farm and facility in Conway, South Carolina.

Harmony grows USDA-certified organic hemp in partnership with RE Botanicals. The company uses sustainable methods to grow its hemp, including regenerative agriculture

As for the extraction process, Harmony uses a special MCT (lipid) infusion extraction method. The process doesn’t involve solvents and uses mild heat and pressure.

This method is not as common as ethanol and CO2 extraction but seems to be effective.

Third-Party Testing

Harmony CBD carries out independent third-party laboratory testing on all its hemp products. It works with CannaBusiness Laboratories, a cannabis testing lab based in Kentucky.

The tests are comprehensive, checking for cannabinoid levels, contaminants, and in many cases terpene levels. You can view the latest test reports online or enter your product’s batch number to see the specific certificates of analysis (CoA’s) for that batch.

Third-Party Test Results

I always look at third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe, accurate, and effective products. Specifically, I check for:

  • The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (3)
  • The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG (quality full-spectrum products should have at least 10%)
  • The levels of THC
  • Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
  • Whether there are any contaminants

You can see the latest test results for three Harmony products above:

  • The 30 ml unflavored CBD oil, which should have 20 mg CBD per ml and actually had 20.76, which is only 4% higher
  • The gummies, which showed 29.5 mg of cannabinoids per piece, only 0.5 mg (2%) less than the advertised 30 mg
  • The softgels, which should have 10 mg of CBD and had 10.36 mg on the tests, which is only 4% higher

These are all great results since they’re below 10% difference from the label. The CBD oil and softgels also contained minor hemp cannabinoids (including THC), verifying that they’re full-spectrum.

But the tests didn’t detect any terpenes, which should be present in a full-spectrum CBD product. I also saw relatively low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids in a few products.

Overall, I’m happy with the test results, although there is room for improvement.

Shipping & Returns

Harmony only ships to the U.S., with free shipping on orders over $99.

There is a 20-day money-back return policy. If a customer is not happy, they can obtain a full refund or a substitute product. You must return the product and fill out a simple form to receive the refund.

Customer Service & Reputation

Harmony has over 1000 customer reviews on Trustpilot, an independent company review website. The reviews have an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, which is some of the best feedback I’ve seen from any CBD brand.

Clearly, the customers are happy with Harmony’s products and buying experience. And I like that the company is transparent, eco-friendly, and was founded for a good cause.

My Verdict: Transparent, Eco-Friendly CBD Brand With Room to Improve

Harmony CBD does a lot of things right. I like that it controls every step of the production process and uses USDA-certified organic hemp and other ingredients whenever possible.

It’s also eco-friendly and is one of the most transparent brands I’ve come across, offering details about its production process, founder, testing, and even allowing tours of its facility.

But Harmony does have some key issues to work on. Most notably, the CBD oils, capsules, and vape products are only available in low-to-medium potencies (10-20 mg per dose). This isn’t strong enough for many CBD users.

Another issue is that most full-spectrum products appear to contain zero terpenes, which should be present in a full-spectrum hemp extract. Some products also have low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids (THC, CBG, CBC, and others).

Overall Rating: 4.2/5
