New York’s High Falls Hemp grows its own hemp to make full-spectrum CBD products. It has all the signs of a great brand with many product types and strengths, detailed third-party test reports, and an inspiring backstory.

High Falls Hemp NY is an excellent pick for full-spectrum CBD products, although it is missing a few things to be considered top-tier.

  • Good product variety
  • Full-spectrum CBD products
  • Multiple strengths and formulas
  • Transparent, vertically integrated company

  • Low levels of minor hemp cannabinoids in a few products
  • Terpene tincture missing terpene testing

Overall Rating: 4.3/5

Products 4.5/5
You can find CBD oils, softgels, and other popular categories with multiple strength options and formulas.
Price & Value 3.5/5
Most of the prices are at or slightly cheaper than average, but you get added value from subscriptions, free shipping over $25, and a discount program.
Hemp Quality 4.5/5
The company grows its organic hemp in High Falls, New York. But it would be slightly better if it was also certified organic by the USDA.
Third-Party Testing 4.5/5
The company provides complete, up-to-date third-party test reports, confirming the accuracy of its products. But it would be nice to see higher minor cannabinoid levels in some products and terpene testing.
Customer Service & Reputation 4.5/5
Although it lacks the established reputation of bigger CBD brands, customer reviews suggest that High Falls is a trustworthy company with solid customer service and products.

High Falls Hemp NY Overview

High Falls Hemp NY is one of the leading CBD brands in New York. Its CBD products are sourced from organic hemp grown on the company’s farm in the small town of High Falls, two hours away from New York City.

The company was founded by Tricia Horst and her husband Rick in 2018. Tricia purchased the farmland decades ago and the couple originally used it to grow vegetables and relax away from the big city. But after a car accident, they turned to natural remedies and discovered CBD. That’s when the couple decided to grow hemp on their farm.

Today, the company offers a large selection of CBD products including tinctures, gummies, capsules, and topicals.

CBD Terminology

  • Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
  • Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
  • Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
  • Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
  • Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
  • CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.

High Falls Hemp Product Lineup

High Falls offers all of the major categories of CBD products, including tinctures, capsules, gummies, topicals, and pet products. They’re available in full-spectrum, THC-free, and other formulas.

CBD Tinctures

You can choose from an impressive variety of CBD oils, including standard full-spectrum tinctures and formulas with added terpenes and minor cannabinoids for specific uses.

CBD Full-Spectrum Tinctures

Volume15-30 ml
Total CBD300–3000 mg

Full-spectrum CBD oil is High Falls’ most popular product, as with most CBD brands. These tinctures come in 15 and 30 ml bottles and multiple potencies ranging from low (10 mg/ml) to very high (100 mg/ml).

Third-party tests confirm that they contain significant amounts (10% total) of minor cannabinoids.

CBD Broad-Spectrum Tincture

CBD Potency50 mg/ml
Volume30 ml
Total CBD1500 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.07
Third-Party TestView report

If you prefer THC-free tinctures, this broad-spectrum CBD oil will suit you well. It’s available in one high strength of 50 mg/ml (1500 mg CBD total). But we’d like to see higher minor cannabinoid levels (tests show only about 3%).

Full Spectrum CBD Mobility Tincture

high falls hemp mobility tincture

CBD/CBG Potency40 mg/ml
Volume15-30 ml
Total CBD/CBG600-1200 mg
Cost per mg$0.08–0.09
Third-Party TestView report

The mobility tincture is designed to help with muscle and joint discomfort and inflammation. It has a unique full-spectrum formula combining 375-750 mg of the minor cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG) with 225-450 mg of CBD and the herb arnica, which is used to help with pain and inflammation (3). You can choose between 15 ml and 30 ml bottles.

Full Spectrum CBD Sleep Tincture

CBD/CBN Potency35 mg/ml

Total CBD/CBN525–1050 mg
Cost per mg$0.09–0.10
Third-Party TestView report

The sleep tincture combines 150-300 mg of CBD with 375-750 mg of cannabinol (CBN), a minor cannabinoid touted for its sleep benefits, plus the calming herbs chamomile and lemon balm. Again, you can choose from 15 or 30 ml bottles.

Full Spectrum CBD Calm Tincture

Volume15-30 ml
Total CBD600–1200 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.08–0.09
Third-Party TestView report

The calm tincture blends 600-1200 mg of full-spectrum CBD with extract of lavender, a population calming and relaxing herb. This formula is designed to help with stress and anxiety.

CBD Terpene Tincture

CBD Potency33 mg/ml
Volume15-30 ml
Total CBD500–1000 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.10
Third-Party TestView report

We’re not 100% sure how this tincture is different from High Falls’ regular full-spectrum oil, since full-spectrum hemp extract is already supposed to contain some terpenes. Maybe this tincture has higher terpene levels but more details are needed.

We’re also disappointed that it doesn’t come with third-party terpene profile tests so we can verify that it does actually contain significant amounts of terpenes.

CBD Gummies

high falls hemp cbd gummies

CBD Potency25 mg
Gummy Count4-30
Total CBD100-750 mg
Cost per mg CBD$0.09-0.12

These full-spectrum gummies carry 25 mg of CBD and come in three formulations:

  • Orange-flavored immunity gummies with 1 mg of added minor cannabinoid cannabichromene (CBC), vitamins (C & D), and minerals (zinc)
  • Citrus & ginger-flavored gummies
  • Pomegranate-flavored gummies

They come in 4-count or 30-count packs. We like the variety, although it’s odd that only one of the flavors has additional active ingredients.

CBD Softgels

Third-Party TestView report

With a pet-friendly strength of 10 mg/ml, this full-spectrum CBD tincture is a great option for cats and small dogs. But we’d like to see higher potencies added for larger dogs.

CBD Topicals

Designed to support your skin, this lotion contains 250-1000 mg of pure CBD alongside aloe, calendula, and other typical ingredients you’d find in skincare products. It comes in three sizes (30, 60, and 120 ml).

CBD Mobility Lotion

Volume30-120 ml
Total CBD/CBG300–1200 mg
Cost per mg$0.08–0.10
TypeIsolate (CBD+CBG)
Third-Party TestView report

This version of High Falls’ lotion is designed to soothe muscle and joint discomfort instead of supporting the skin. Similar to the mobility tincture, it combines CBG (200-800 mg) with CBD (100-400) plus the herb arnica. The lotion is available in three sizes (30 ml, 60 ml, and 120 ml).

Price & Value

The easiest way to compare the value of CBD products is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1500 mg CBD oil that costs $100, its price per milligram (mg) of CBD would be 100/1500 = $0.07.

You also have to consider that the prices vary by product type.

Here’s the breakdown of High Falls Hemp’s prices:

  • CBD oil: $0.07-0.12 per mg of CBD
  • Capsules: $0.08-0.12 per mg
  • Gummies: $0.09-0.12 per mg
  • Topicals: $0.08-0.11 per mg
  • Pet products: $0.12 per mg

These prices are considered slightly cheaper or just about average.

But you’re still getting above-average value because of free shipping on orders over $25, many products having additional active ingredients, the 30% off subscription option, and a 30% discount program for military, first responders, and other qualifying groups.

Hemp Source and Production Process

True to its name, High Falls Hemp gets its hemp from an organic farm in High Falls in upstate New York. The company currently grows 13 acres of organic hemp and is vertically integrated, so every step from cultivation to making products is done in-house.

The hemp is extracted using the supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) method, the most popular extraction process in the CBD industry.

High Falls also stands out for using hemp seed oil as a carrier oil (in tinctures) instead of the standard, cheaper MCT oil.

Third-Party Testing

All of High Falls Hemp’s products are comprehensively tested for potency (levels of cannabinoids) and contaminants (heavy metals, pesticides, mold, and more) by an independent lab.

The testing is done by BlueLeaf, a cannabis & hemp testing lab based in Kentucky. You can find up-to-date test reports directly on High Falls Hemp’s website or enter your product batch number to find the associated report.

Third-Party Test Results

We always look at third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe and accurate products. We check:

  • The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (4)
  • The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG and CBC
  • The levels of THC
  • Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
  • Whether there are any contaminants

Above, you can see the test certificates of analysis (CoAs) for three products:

  • The 3000 mg full-spectrum tincture, showing multiple cannabinoids and 2945.5 mg CBD (only 1.8% less, a great result)
  • The 50 mg softgels, which found multiple cannabinoids and 55.9 mg CBD (11.7% more)
  • The 1000 mg (120 ml) body lotion, showing 983.2 mg CBD (only 1.7% less than the label)

These are great results because they’re up-to-date, show THC and other minor hemp cannabinoids (which should be present in a full-spectrum CBD product), and the actual CBD levels are close to the advertised amount.

We also like that all products are comprehensively tested for contaminants without any negative findings. Taken together, the third-party test reports for High Falls Hemp prove that the company is selling accurate, high-quality products.

Shipping & Returns

High Falls ships domestically with free shipping on orders over $25.

It has a 30-day moneyback guarantee where you can return your product for a full refund (but this is limited to new customers and one product). The company also accepts standard returns for defective/wrong orders.

Customer Service & Reputation

While it doesn’t have the established reputation of bigger brands, High Falls Hemp has all the signs of a trustworthy, reliable CBD company. We like that its founders are transparent and got into the hemp business after personally experiencing the benefits of CBD.

The company also has dozens of mostly 5-star reviews on its website and holds an average 4.7/5 rating from over 100 reviews on Trustpilot, an independent review website.

Our Verdict: A Transparent Brand With Innovative Products

High Falls Hemp gets our recommendation. Its product lineup is diverse enough to meet most people’s needs, and we’re particularly impressed by the variety of CBD oil strengths and special formulas with added minor cannabinoids.

We’re also fans of transparent CBD vendors that cultivate their own hemp and provide complete third-party test results that match the product label.

Our only criticism is that the minor cannabinoid levels are a tad low in some products and we’d like to see terpene tests for the terpene tincture.

Overall Rating: 4.3/5
