FOCL Overview
Ken Lawson, CEO of FOCL, launched the brand in 2019 after suffering for years from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Following his diagnosis, he started to explore the health benefits of herbal medications.
The cost of the natural products took a toll on his bank account and spurred him to launch FOCL to create a handful of outstanding CBD products and other herbal medication alternatives.
The company has a fairly narrow product range that includes THC-free CBD oils, gummies, capsules, and topicals.
FOCL strives always to provide 100 percent transparency about the brand’s various products. They provide ample information about each product on their website along with third-party test results.
FOCL has its own organic hemp farm in New Mexico and also works with other hemp producers. The company uses a CO2 extraction method to extract the CBD from American-grown hemp.
Based in Thousand Oaks, California, FOCL has a GMP-compliant manufacturing facility.
CBD Terminology
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with a wide variety of beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts than CBD. For hemp, THC also counts as a minor cannabinoid.
- Hemp: non-intoxicating cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (less than 0.3%).
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about 4 times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD with all other hemp compounds removed.
FOCL Product Lineup
FOCL offers CBD drops, gummies, capsules, and topicals. All items are made with broad-spectrum CBD. You can choose from a single product purchase or opt to subscribe for additional savings. They are also offering bundling options.
However, the products are somewhat limited in variety and strengths.
FOCL CBD Drops

CBD Potency | 30-100 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 300, 1,000, and 2,000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.04–$0.10 |
Type | Broad-spectrum |
Flavors | 5 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
FOCL has several potencies for their broad-spectrum CBD oil ranging from low to high: 300mg, 1,000 mg, and 2,000 mg.
You can choose from a wide array of flavors such as orange cream, mint, cherry, natural, and strawberry lemonade. Unfortunately, these CBD oils don’t seem to contain terpenes like a proper broad-spectrum product, with only one test showing a single terpene.
FOCL CBD Gummies

CBD Potency | 10 mg |
Capsule Count | 30 |
Total CBD | 300 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.13 |
Type | Isolate? |

FOCL CBD Chews, also called gummies, are available in three flavors in one jar. Each chew contains 10 mg of CBD.
Although FOCL claims to use broad-spectrum hemp extract for these gummies, the test results only show pure CBD and no other cannabinoids.
FOCL Capsules
FOCL offers two types of multi-ingredient CBD capsules: one formula for daytime and another for sleep.
FOCL Day

CBD Potency | 5 mg? |
Capsule Count | 60 |
Total CBD | 300 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.13 |

FOCL Day is a specialty blend that provides a natural energy boost. It combines energy-boosting adaptogens and other herbal ingredients along with CBD.
These include Lion’s Mane, Rhodiola Rosea, L-theanine, Vitamin B6, and Bacopa Monnieri.
Although we like this formula, FOCL doesn’t specify how much CBD is in the capsules, listing only the amount of “hemp extract.” Another downside is that these capsules appear to contain pure CBD rather than the advertised broad-spectrum CBD.
FOCL Night

CBD Potency | 10 mg? |
Capsule Count | 60 |
Total CBD | 600 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.13 |
Type | Isolate? |
Third-Party Test | View report |
FOCL night is designed to promote a restful night’s sleep. The capsules contain CBD along with five botanicals: Passion Flower, Ashwagandha, Hops Flower, Griffonia Simplicifolia, and Valerian Root.
But it’s not clear if they contain 10 mg of CBD or hemp extract. And again, the third-party tests only show pure CBD rather than the advertised broad-spectrum CBD.
FOCL Immunity

CBD Potency | N/A |
Capsule Count | 120 |
Total CBD | N/A |
Cost per mg CBD | N/A |
Formula | Immunity-boosting mushrooms & herbs |
Third-Party Test | N/A |
As the name implies, these capsules are designed to boost your immune system. They’re free of CBD and contain six mushrooms and herbs with evidence-based immunity benefits: echinacea, elderberry, astragalus, and reishi, shiitake, and maitake mushrooms.
FOCL Relief Cream

CBD Potency | ~5 mg/g |
Topical | 3.38 oz |
Total CBD | 500 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.08 |
Type | Isolate |

The FOCL relief cream contains 500 mg of pure CBD in combination with other pain and inflammation-relieving ingredients, such as menthol and camphor.
Price & Value
The easiest way to compare the value of CBD products is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1000 mg CBD oil that costs $100, its price per milligram (mg) of CBD would be 100/1000 = $0.10.
The price per mg of CBD is going to vary between products because of different manufacturing costs.
Compared to most CBD brands, FOCL’s prices are considered average or slightly cheaper than average:
- The tinctures cost $0.04–$0.10 per mg of CBD
- The gummies are $0.13 per mg
- The capsules are $0.13 per mg
- The cream is $0.08 per mg
All in all, you’ll get okay value out of FOCL, especially if you’re buying their tinctures.
Hemp Source and Extraction Process
The hemp that goes into FOCL’s CBD products comes from the company’s organic farm in New Mexico, in addition to other growers. That’s great news because companies that grow their hemp have greater control over final product quality.
FOCL uses a solvent-free CO2 extraction process to pull CBD and other beneficial compounds from the hemp plant’s fibers with no unwanted residue.
Third-Party Testing
FOCL uses Kaycha Labs, a reputable lab located in California, for all of its third-party testing. It tests for cannabinoid and terpene potency, and contaminants, including pesticides, heavy metals, microbial, mycotoxin, and residual solvents.
Third-party Test Results

We always check third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe and accurate products. More specifically, we check:
- The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (3)
- The levels of THC
- The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG and CBC
- Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
- Whether there are any contaminants
FOCL’s products contain accurate levels of CBD. We added three test reports above, which show that:
- The CBD oil contains only 5% more CBD than advertised
- The gummies contain only 7% more
- The night capsules contain only 6% less
However, the company’s gummies and capsules appear to contain pure CBD (isolate) rather than the advertised broad-spectrum CBD. There are no other cannabinoids or terpenes present, which should be found in a broad-spectrum product.
Another minor pet peeve is that although FOCL orders contaminant tests and we can see that all products passed them, the results are not actually shown in their third-party reports.
Shipping & Returns
FOCL has a 60-day money-back guarantee if you’re not happy with the product. Customers are responsible for return shipping. All orders cost a flat shipping rate of $6.60 per order. However, they do offer free shipping for orders over $65 and subscription orders.
Customer Service & Reputation
Although it’s not the biggest name in the CBD space, FOCL has plenty of positive customer reviews. If you have questions or concerns, you can reach out to FOCL via email or call their toll-free phone support number.
Our Verdict: FOCL Needs to Improve Product Accuracy and Variety To Be Considered Top-Tier
We like FOCL’s straightforward product lineup. We’re also fans of their day and night capsules because they combine CBD with other evidence-based botanical ingredients.
Having said that, the company falls short in a few key areas. For starters, its gummies and capsules appear to be made with pure CBD instead of the broad-spectrum CBD advertised on the website.
Some products also don’t clearly say how much CBD is present. More importantly, FOCL is lacking in full-spectrum products and additional strength options for gummies, capsules, and topicals.
Overall, FOCL is a decent brand but it has room to improve.
