Extract Labs Overview
Extract Labs is a popular CBD company based in Colorado, the heartland of America’s hemp industry. It was born in 2016 in the garage of Craig Henderson, an Iraq combat veteran who was impressed by the health benefits of cannabis.
Extract Labs has one of the most diverse product lineups in the CBD industry, including tinctures, gummies, capsules, topicals, isolates, edibles, coffee, bath bombs, and vape products available in CBD and minor cannabinoid formulas.
It sources hemp from local farms and formulates the products in its Lafayette, Colorado facility. Extract Labs also provides up-to-date third-party test reports.
CBD Glossary
- Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.
Extract Labs Product Lineup
Extract Labs provides one of the widest varieties of CBD products on the market. It sells CBD oils, capsules, gummies, edibles, topicals, vapes, and concentrates in various strengths and formulations.
On top of that, it also offers products containing the minor cannabinoids CBN, CBG, CBC, and delta-8 THC.
CBD Oil Tinctures
You can choose from regular and specially formulated CBD oils with additional minor cannabinoids.
Standard CBD Oil
CBD Potency | 33-133 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 1000-6000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.02–0.05 |
Type | Full-spectrum & isolate |
Flavors | 3 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Extract Labs’ standard CBD oil is available in full-spectrum and isolate formulas with natural, mint chocolate, and raspberry flavors. The natural flavor is certified-organic by the USDA, which is always great to see. But most third-party tests show relatively low minor cannabinoid concentrations (~5-6%).
My experience: I tried the 2000 mg full-spectrum tincture, which produced similar relaxing and calming effects to tinctures from other leading brands.
Minor Cannabinoid Tinctures
Potency | 40-80 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total cannabinoids | 1200-2400 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04-0.06 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Aside from the regular CBD oil, Extract Labs also has four full-spectrum minor cannabinoid formulas:
- PM formula CBN oil, combining 900 mg CBD with 300 mg CBN, the minor cannabinoid touted for its sleep benefits
- Cognitive support CBG oil with 1000 mg CBD and 1000 mg CBG in full and broad-spectrum formulas
- Relief CBC oil combining 1800 mg CBD with 600 mg CBC for a high potency of 80 mg/ml that’s ideal for relieving pain
- Immune support tincture with a 1:1:1:1 ratio of CBD, CBG, and their acidic cannabinoid parents CBDa and CBGa.
I like the variety and the ratios of minor cannabinoids for these tinctures.
Gummies
Extract Labs offers a variety of vegan gummies in CBD and THC formulations.
CBD Gummies
Potency | 33-66 mg |
Gummy Count | 30 |
Total cannabinoids | 1000-2000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.03-0.07 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Formulas | 5 |

Extract Lab’s full-spectrum vegan CBD gummies are available in four formulas similar to the oils:
- Daily support CBD gummies in 33 mg or 66 mg strengths and strawberry or blue raspberry flavors
- PM formula gummies with 30 mg CBD and 10 mg CBN for sleep (elderberry flavor)
- Cognitive formula gummies with 17 mg CBD and 17 mg CBG (pink lemonade flavor)
- Immune support gummies with vitamin C, 17 mg CBD/CBDa, and 17 mg CBG/CBGa (elderberry flavor)
- Sleep gummies with 30 mg CBD + 10 mg CBN + 5 mg THC
While I like the variety, the minor cannabinoid levels (including THC) in the gummies are quite low. For example, the PM gummies only show CBN and CBD, which looks more like two combined isolates than a full-spectrum extract.
Delta-8 THC Gummies
Delta-8 Potency | 33 mg |
Gummy Count | 30 |
Total Delta-8 | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate |

Extract Labs also offers intoxicating, legal delta-8 THC gummies. Each piece has 30 mg of delta-8 THC in blue raspberry and Mai Tai flavors.
Delta-9 THC Gummies
CBD/THC Potency | 20 mg |
Gummy Count | 20 |
Total CBD/THC | 200 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.10 |
Type | Isolate |
Flavors | 3 |

Like many CBD brands, Extract Labs also sells legal delta-9 THC gummies, which combine 10 mg of THC and 10 mg of CBD. You can choose from mixed berry, peach bellini, and watermelon flavors.
CBD Softgels
Potency | 20-40 mg |
Softgel Count | 60 |
Total cannabinoids | 1200-2400 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.03-0.08 |
Type | Full-spectrum |

Extract Labs sells gelatin softgels with the same five formulas and ratios as its CBD oils:
- Standard 33 mg full-spectrum CBD softgels
- Pm formula softgels with 15 mg CBD/5 mg CBN
- Cognitive support softgels with 17 mg CBD/17 mg CBG
- Relief softgels with 30 mg CBD and 10 mg CBC
- Immune softgels with ~ 17 mg CBG/CBGa and 17 mg CBD/CBDa
- Craving control softgels with 5 mg THCV / 15 mg CBD for suppressing appetite, energy, and focus
The minor cannabinoid levels look solid. For example, the regular capsules have ~9.2% minor cannabinoids, which is close enough to the 10% minimum I expect from quality full-spectrum products.
My experience: I tested the CBG capsules, taking three during the day. I felt an improved mood and calmness about an hour later. The effects lasted for several hours.
CBD Topicals
CBD Potency | 6-17.9 mg/ml |
Volume | 3-6 oz |
Total cannabinoids | 1000-2100 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04-0.07 |
Type | Full & broad-spectrum |
Varieties | 3 |

Extract Labs offers three full-spectrum topical CBD products:
- Muscle cream with 2000 mg CBD/100 mg CBD plus menthol and arnica, two herbal ingredients used for topical pain relief. It’s one of the most popular CBD topicals for relieving pain and soreness.
- Hydrate & nourish daily lotion that combines 250 mg CBD with 750 mg CBG with standard skincare ingredients.
- Muscle & recovery lotion with 2000 mg CBD/100 mg THC, menthol, and arnica. The formula is almost identical to the muscle cream.
CBD Vapes
Extract Labs sells CBD and delta-8 THC vape cartridges, as well as a compatible battery kit.
CBD Vape Cartridges
Potency | ~55-58% (~40% CBD) |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~600 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Flavors | 3 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These full-spectrum CBD vape cartridges carry about ~58% cannabinoids, including about 40% CBD and ~15% cannabigerol (CBG).
They’re available in three terpene blend flavors inspired by cannabis strains: God’s Gift, Guava Jam, and Blue Dream. They will work with any standard 510-thread battery.
But the description is a bit misleading; it says 1000 mg CBD, but there’s only about 500 mg and 600 mg cannabinoids in total, according to the tests.
My experience: I tried the blue dream cartridge with my rechargeable vape pen. I felt relaxed, mellow, and uplifted within a few puffs. The cart itself looks sturdy and high-quality. The taste is hempy and earthy, similar to smoking cannabis. This is the best cheap CBD cartridge I’ve tested.
Delta-8 Vape Cartridges
Potency | ~70% (~50% D8) |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~700 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Flavors | 4 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These cartridges are essentially an intoxicating, delta-8 version of the CBD ones. They’re available in four cannabis strain-inspired terpene flavors: martian candy, clementine, garlic jam, and apple fritter.
They contain roughly 500-600 mg of delta-8 THC alongside smaller amounts of CBD, CBG, and other minor cannabinoids. However, the product page says 1000 mg of delta-8 THC, whereas the tests show about 500-600 mg, which is a bit misleading.
Disposable Vape Pens
Potency | ~77% |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~600-800 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04-0.06 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Formulas | 2 |

If you prefer the convenience of disposable vape pens, Extract Labs offers two options:
- CBD disposable vape (blue dream)
- Delta-8 disposable (apple fritter)
Each comes with a unique blend of terpenes.
Extract Tank Battery
This $18 vape battery comes with a USB charger and is compatible with all of Extract Labs’ vape tank cartridges. It’s a good option if you don’t have your own vape device or battery.
CBD for Pets (Fetch)
Extract Labs’ Fetch products are designed for dogs and cats.
Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture for Dogs
CBD Potency | 16.7 mg/ml |
Volume | 30-60 ml |
Total CBD | 500-1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.05–0.07 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
This pet-focused tincture has a lower potency (16.7 mg/ml) potency ideal for dogs and cats. It’s available in two sizes (30 ml and 60 ml), but I’d like to see at least one more potency for larger dogs. Like the human CBD oil, this one is certified organic by the USDA.
CBD Dog Treats
CBD Potency | 10 mg |
Treat Count | 30 |
Total CBD | 300 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.12 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These dog treats have 10 mg of full-spectrum CBD per piece with 30 treats per bag. They’re made with organic-certified ingredients like oat bran, molasses, and oat flour.
I like that they’re full-spectrum (unlike many other treats marketed as full-spectrum but only showing CBD on third-party test reports).
Isolates & Concentrates
Extract Labs sells not only CBD isolate powder but also CBG, CBN, plus liquid distillate and crumble.
Cannabinoid Isolates
Potency | 99+% |
Size | 1-500 g |
Total Cannabinoids | ~1,000-500,000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.004-0.04 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
If you’re looking for pure CBD isolate powder, this is the product for you. It comes in a 1-gram jar, as well as bulk sizes of 5, 25, 100, and 500 grams containing over 99% pure CBD. There are also CBG and CBN isolate versions (but at a higher cost).
The price starts at a few cents per mg at the 1-gram sizes but goes to less than half a cent when buying the larger sizes.
Delta-8 Distillate
Potency | ~90% |
Size | 5-500 g |
Total Cannabinoids | ~4,500-450,000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.008-0.02 |
Type | Distillate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Distillate is an oil-based product that contains high levels (~90%) of a single cannabinoid. Extract Labs offers ~90% delta-8 THC distillate in 5, 25, 100, and 500-gram jars.
CBD Crumble
CBD Potency | ~90% |
Size | 1 g |
Total CBD | ~900 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04 |
Type | Isolate |
Strains | 3 |

This CBD crumble is a wax-like concentrate containing roughly 90% pure CBD with three terpene flavors: blue dream, God’s gift, and lemon fuel.
Price & Value
The easiest way to compare the value of CBD products is to divide the total cost by the amount of CBD. For example, if you have a 1500 mg CBD oil that costs $100, its price per milligram (mg) of CBD would be 100/1500 = $0.07.
You also have to consider that the prices vary by product type.
Here’s a breakdown of Extract Labs’ prices for the most popular CBD product categories:
- CBD oil: 2-6 cents per mg of cannabinoids
- Capsules: 3-7 cents per mg
- Gummies: 3-8 cents per mg
- Topicals: 4-7 cents per mg
- Pet products: 6-12 cents per mg
- Vapes: 4-6 cents per mg
That’s cheaper than the industry average, especially for products that contain additional minor cannabinoids like CBN, CBG, and CBC. And you can get 25% off by subscribing to monthly deliveries.
Extract Labs also offers a generous 60% discount for veterans, active military, teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals. This is one of the most inclusive and sizable discount programs in the CBD industry.
In summary, Extract Labs offers above-average value for your money.

Hemp Source and Production Process
Extract Labs sources its hemp from local Colorado farmers. Everything else is done in-house in its Lafayette, Colorado facility.
Extract Labs uses supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction. The company’s founder Craig Henderson previously worked as a senior sales engineer for Apeks Supercritical, one of the leading experts in CO2 extraction, and he brought his expertise to Extract Labs.
After that, the extracts go through distillation, isolation, chromatography, and formulation in the same facility.
Third-Party Testing
Extract Labs sends most of its products for third-party testing at ACS Laboratory, one of the most reputable hemp & CBD testing labs in the country. The tests check for both cannabinoid potency and contaminants, which is great to see.
Third-Party Test Results
I always look at third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe, accurate, and effective products. Specifically, I check for:
- The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (3)
- The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG (quality full-spectrum products should have at least 10%)
- The levels of THC
- Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
- Whether there are any contaminants
For the most part, Extract Labs’ test results are good. They’re up-to-date, include comprehensive contaminant testing, and show accurate CBD levels. However, some products are low in minor cannabinoids or CBD.
I included the test certificates of analysis (CoAs) for several products to give an example:
- The 2000 mg daily support full-spectrum CBD oil test detected 2145 mg of CBD, which is accurate (7% more than the label). But the minor cannabinoid content is low at only 5.3%.
- The 66 mg daily support gummies test found 66.2 mg, which is very accurate. But the test didn’t find any minor cannabinoids at all, so it looks like these gummies are made with pure CBD rather than the advertised full-spectrum extract.
- The guava jam CBD cartridge test found about 390 mg of CBD and 570 mg of cannabinoids in total, which is much lower than the advertised 1000 mg of CBD/cannabinoids. The test also didn’t find any CBT, a minor cannabinoid advertised on the product box.
In summary, although the extent and frequency of testing are good, Extract Labs needs to improve the accuracy and minor cannabinoid content of some products.
Shipping & Returns
Extract Labs offers free USPS shipping on orders over $75. The company also ships internationally at a flat rate of $50 or for free if you spend over $200, with an average delivery time of 4-6 weeks.
You can return products (in original condition) within 7 days of delivery, minus shipping costs and a 25% restocking fee.
Customer Service & Reputation
Extract Labs is a transparent, reputable CBD vendor with an inspiring backstory. It has over 6,000 satisfied customer reviews praising its products and customer service. The company even shares photos and background info on its CEO and staff, which is great to see.
I also like that Extract Labs offers a large discount to qualifying individuals.
The Verdict: Leading Brand, Especially for Minor Cannabinoids
There’s a lot to like about Extract Labs. A transparent, ethical company, it’s stayed true to its humble beginnings as one veteran’s mission to promote natural wellness.
Extract Labs does a particularly great job with minor cannabinoid formulations like CBN, CBG, CBC, which are growing in popularity.
It’s also a good option for less common products like concentrates and vapes, which are harder to find because of the USPS vape shipping ban. The company’s standard CBD offerings are solid too.
But it would be nice to see higher minor cannabinoid concentrations and more accurate CBD levels in some products.
