Extract Labs Overview
Extract Labs is a popular CBD company based in Colorado, the heartland of America’s hemp industry. It was born in 2016 in the garage of Craig Henderson, an Iraq combat veteran who was impressed by the health benefits of cannabis.
Extract Labs has one of the most diverse product lineups in the CBD industry, including tinctures, gummies, capsules, topicals, isolates, edibles, coffee, bath bombs, and vape products available in CBD and minor cannabinoid formulas.
It sources hemp from local farms and formulates all products in its Lafayette, Colorado facility. Everything is comprehensively tested by third-party labs with the results available on the company’s website.
Extract Labs is also committed to keeping its products accessible with a 50% discount for first responders, veterans, and other qualifying individuals.
Did you know? Extract Labs is the only brand that sells legit CBD products on Amazon. Although the labels don’t mention CBD at all, the products themselves are exactly the same ones you can buy on Extract Labs’ website.
CBD Terminology
- Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.
Extract Labs Product Lineup
Extract Labs provides one of the widest varieties of CBD products on the market. It sells CBD oils, capsules, gummies, edibles, topicals, vapes, coffee, and even bath bombs in various strengths and formulations.
On top of that, it also offers products containing the minor cannabinoids CBN, CBG, CBC, and delta-8 THC.

CBD Oil Tinctures
You can choose from regular full-spectrum CBD oil and CBG, CBN, and even CBDa formulas designed for different goals.

This full-spectrum CBD oil has three strengths and three flavors: natural, lemon, mint chocolate, and raspberry. The natural flavor is certified-organic by the USDA, which is always great to see. But some third-party tests show relatively low minor cannabinoid concentrations (~5%).
My experience: I tried the 2000 mg version, which produced similar relaxing effects to tinctures from other leading brands.
CBD Isolate Tincture

CBD Potency | 66 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 2000 mg |

This is essentially a pure CBD isolate version of the high-potency full-spectrum tincture. This is the oil for you if you prefer just to get CBD and nothing else.
PM Formula CBN Tincture

Designed to help you sleep, this full-spectrum oil combines 900 mg of CBD with 300 mg of cannabinol (CBN), a minor cannabinoid touted for its sleep benefits. I like the 3:1 ratio of CBD to CBN.
Cognitive Support CBG Oil Tincture

CBD/CBG Potency | 66 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD/CBG | 2000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |

This tincture combines 1000 mg CBD with 1000 mg cannabigerol (CBG), another minor hemp cannabinoid. It’s available in full-spectrum and broad-spectrum (0% THC) formulas and provides a high dose of 66 mg of cannabinoids per ml.
While I like the idea behind the tincture, it would be nice to get a better explanation of the proposed cognitive benefits. There hasn’t been that much research on CBG.
Relief Formula CBC Tincture

CBD/CBC Potency | 80 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD/CBC | 2400 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |

One of the most unique CBD tinctures on the market, this oil has a 3:1 ratio of CBD to cannabichromene (CBC), a lesser-known minor cannabinoid. With 1800 mg of CBD and 600 mg of CBC in total, it has a high potency of 80 mg per dose, which is ideal for pain relief.
Immune Support CBGa CBDa Tincture

Potency | 67 mg/ml |

Total Cannabinoids | 2000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.06 |

Another tincture that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else, this oil combines 500 mg of CBD with 500 mg CBG and their acidic cannabinoid parents: 500 mg cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) and 500 mg cannabigerolic acid (CBGa).
Recent research has shown that CBGa and CBDa may block the covid-19 virus from entering human cells. That could be the inspiration behind this unique tincture.
CBD Edibles
Extract Labs has CBD, CBN, and even delta-8 gummies and chocolates for sale.
Full-Spectrum CBD Gummies

Extract Lab’s full-spectrum vegan CBD gummies come in assorted lemonade, mixed berry, and orange cream flavors. But the minor cannabinoid levels are low and don’t seem to include THC, which should be present in full-spectrum products.
Full-Spectrum CBN Gummies

Gummy Count | 30 |
Total CBD/CBN | 1200 mg |

This product is essentially a gummy version of the company’s CBN tincture, which combines 30 mg of full-spectrum CBD with 10 mg of CBN per dose. It’s designed to support your sleep.
Like the regular gummies, they’re vegan-friendly and flavored with lemonade, mixed berry, and orange cream. But again, the tests didn’t detect any THC.
Broad-Spectrum CBG Gummies

CBD/CBG Potency | 66 mg |
Gummy Count | 30 |
Total CBD/CBG | 2000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Broad-spectrum |

An edible version of Extract Labs’ CBG tincture, these gummies combine 33 mg of CBG with 33 mg of broad-spectrum CBD. As before, these vegan gummies are available in lemonade, mixed berry, and orange cream flavors.
I’d like to see more minor cannabinoids on the test results since they only show CBD and CBG.
Delta-8 THC Gummies

Delta-8 Potency | 25 mg |
Gummy Count | 40 |
Total Delta-8 | 1000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.06-0.07 |

Extract Labs also offers intoxicating, legal delta-8 THC gummies. Each piece has 25 mg of delta-8 THC with an assortment of flavors.
Extract Labs also sells delta-8 gummies made by a different brand (Kurativ) which cost $5 more and come in 4 unique flavors: apple rings, peach rings, blue razz rings, and watermelon wedges.
Delta-9 THC Gummies

CBD/THC Potency | 20 mg |

Last but not least, Extract Labs even sells cannabinoid-infused chocolate bars. These 70% dark chocolate bars are available in four varieties:
- THC-free CBD chocolate bar with 9.3 mg CBD per piece
- CBN bar with 7.8 mg CBD/2 mg CBN per piece
- Delta-8 THC bar with 5.2 mg delta-8/5.2 mg CBD per piece
- Special Sauce bar infused with 8 mg of full-spectrum CBD per piece
Each chocolate bar is made with vegan ingredients and comes with 10 squares.
My experience: I tried the special sauce chocolate bar, which tasted amazing. I ate all 10 squares and felt a relaxing, calming effect.

CBD Face Cream

This rub is made in partnership with Oregon’s Peak Extracts, a recreational cannabis retailer. It’s made with 2000 mg of pure CBD and a blend of many herbs with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving ingredients, like boswellia serrata, peppermint, and bergamot peel oil.
CBG Rescue Rub

CBG/CBD Potency | 8.5 mg/ml |

Total CBG/CBD | 2000 mg |

This cream is similar to the standard rescue rub and has all the same additional botanical ingredients, except it combines 1000 mg of CBG and 1000 mg of CBD. This formula may be slightly better for pain relief since you’re getting two cannabinoids instead of one, but it also costs $15 more.
CBD Vapes
Extract Labs sells CBD, delta-8 THC, HHC, and THC-O vape cartridges, as well as a compatible battery kit.
CBD Extract Tank

Potency | ~85-95% (~50% CBD) |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~975 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Flavors | 5 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These full-spectrum CBD vape cartridges carry 85-95% cannabinoids, including about 50% CBD and high levels of the minor cannabinoids cannabigerol (CBG) and cannabicitran (CBT).
They’re available in 5 terpene blend flavors inspired by cannabis strains: God’s Gift, Guava Jam, Blue Dream, El Jefe, and Martian Candy. They will work with any 510-thread battery, including the one sold by Extract Labs.
My only criticism is that most third-party tests don’t show THC, which should be found in a full-spectrum CBD product.
My experience: I tried the blue dream tank with my rechargeable vape pen. I felt relaxed, mellow, and uplifted within a few puffs. The cart itself looks sturdy and high-quality. The taste is hempy and earthy, similar to smoking cannabis. This is the best cheap CBD cartridge you can get.

Delta-8 Extract Tank

Potency | ~80% (~70% D8) |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~850 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Flavors | 5 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These cartridges are essentially an intoxicating, delta-8 version of the company’s CBD tanks. Delta-8 THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid made from hemp-derived CBD.
The carts contain roughly 850 mg of cannabinoids, 70% of which is delta-8 THC and the rest is mostly CBG and CBT. They’re also available in 5 cannabis strain-inspired terpene flavors: el jefe, martian candy, clementine, garlic jam, and apple fritter.
THC-O Extract Tank

Potency | >70% THC-O |
Size | 1 g |
Total THC-O | ~700 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate |
Flavors | 2 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
This tank contains tetrahydrocannabinol acetate (also known as THC-O or THC-O acetate), an acetated version of THC that’s made from hemp-derived CBD. It’s available in blue dream and clementine cannabis terpene flavors.
I’m concerned about the safety of THC-O because early studies suggest potential harm to the lungs. The DEA also argues that it’s illegal. I recommend against THC-O products until we know more.
HHC Extract Tank

Potency | >70% HHC |
Size | 1 g |
Total HHC | ~700 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.05 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is the newest intoxicating cannabinoid made from CBD through a multi-step process. This martian candy-flavored tank contains roughly 70% HHC and a smaller amount of THC-O acetate. Again, I’m concerned about the safety of THC-O so I don’t recommend this product.
Disposable Vape Pens

Potency | ~80-96% |
Size | 1 g |
Total cannabinoids | ~800-960 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.04 |
Type | Full-spectrum & isolate |
Formulas | 4 |
Third-Party Test | View report |
If you prefer the convenience of disposable vape pens, Extract Labs offers four options:
- CBD disposable vape (blue dream flavor)
- Delta-8 disposable (apple fritter)
- HHC disposable (God’s gift)
- THC-O disposable (lemon fuel)
Each comes with a unique blend of terpenes.
Extract Tank Battery

This $18 vape battery comes with a USB charger and is compatible with all of Extract Labs’ vape tank cartridges. It’s a good option if you don’t have your own vape device or battery.
CBD for Pets (Fetch)
Extract Labs’ Fetch products are designed for dogs and cats. There’s a pet tincture, dog treats, plus a t-shirt and frisbee. Extract Labs also claims to send 10% of the proceeds from Fetch products to the CSU Veterinary School to help study CBD’s effects on dogs.
Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture for Dogs

CBD Potency | 16.7 mg/ml |
Volume | 30-60 ml |
Total CBD | 500-1000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.06–0.07 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
This pet-focused tincture has lower potency (16.7 mg/ml) potency that’s ideal for dogs and cats. It’s available in two sizes (30 ml and 60 ml) but I’d like to see at least one more potency for larger dogs. Like the human CBD oil, this one is certified organic by the USDA.
CBD Dog Treats

CBD Potency | 10 mg |
Treat Count | 30 |
Total CBD | 300 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.12 |
Type | Full-spectrum |
Third-Party Test | View report |
These dog treats have 10 mg of full-spectrum CBD per piece with 30 treats per bag. They’re made with organic-certified ingredients like oat bran, molasses, and oat flour.
I like that they’re full-spectrum (unlike many other treats marketed as full-spectrum but only showing CBD on third-party test reports).
Isolates
Extract Labs sells not only CBD isolate powder but also CBG, CBN, plus liquid distillates in various sizes.
Cannabinoid Isolates

Potency | 99+% |
Size | 1-500 g |
Total Cannabinoids | ~1,000-500,000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.004-0.04 |
Type | Isolate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
If you’re looking for pure CBD isolate powder, this is the product for you. It comes in a 1-gram jar, as well as bulk sizes of 5, 25, 100, and 500 grams containing over 99% pure CBD. There are also CBG and CBN isolate versions (but at a higher cost).
The price starts at a few cents per mg at the 1-gram sizes but goes to less than half a cent when buying the larger sizes.
Cannabinoid Distillates

Potency | 90+% |
Size | 5-500 g |
Total Cannabinoids | ~4,500-450,000 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.007-0.04 |
Type | Distillate |
Third-Party Test | View report |
Distillate is a liquid product that usually contains high levels (~90%) of a single cannabinoid and may have smaller amounts of other cannabinoids. Extract Labs offers 90+% CBD distillate, ~92% delta-8 THC distillate, and ~96% CBC distillate in 5, 25, 100, and 500-gram jars.
CBD Crumble

This CBD crumble is a wax-like concentrate containing over 90% pure CBD with added terpene blends inspired by 5 cannabis strains: blue dream, garlic jam, God’s gift, guava jam, and lemon fuel.
CBD Coffee

CBD Potency | 0.74 mg/g |
Weight | 340 g (12 oz) |
Total CBD | 140-250 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.15-0.21 |
Type | Isolate |
Flavors | 4 |
Third-Party Test | N/A |
Extract Labs partnered together with local Colorado coffee brand Bearded Man to offer CBD-infused coffee. CBD is typically combined with coffee to counteract the jitteriness, anxiety, and similar side effects.
These roasted whole coffee beans are infused with 250 mg of CBD isolate in 3 flavors: wolfhound, French fork, and chinstrap. Alternatively, you can buy coffee pods with 20 mg/pod and 12 pods per pack in French fork and Shaman flavors.
I like the idea but think the CBD strength should be higher, especially for the coffee beans.
CBD Bath Bombs

CBD Potency | 100 mg |
Bomb Count | 1 |
Total CBD | 100 mg |
Cost per mg | $0.16 |
Type | Isolate |
Formulas | 4 |
Third-Party Test | N/A |
Extract Labs partnered with local Colorado brand Vital You to offer these CBD-infused bath bombs. Each bomb has CBD isolate alongside a specific blend of herbs, gemstones, and oils:
- Bliss, with moonstone, calendula petals, white chestnut, and wild rose
- Breathe, with essential oils, eucalyptus, and tumbled amazonite
- Deep, with essential oils, aloe essence, blue cornflower, and lapis lazuli stone
- Sleep, with relaxing essential oils, witch hazel, blue cornflower, and aquamarine gemstone
While I like the idea behind bath bombs, I don’t think they’re a good way to use CBD. CBD is not soluble in water and 100 mg is a tiny amount when considering the volume of your bath. With these bombs you’ll mostly benefit from the other ingredients.
Price & Value
Here’s a breakdown of Extract Labs’ prices for the most popular CBD product categories:
- CBD oil: 2 to 8 cents per mg of cannabinoids
- Capsules: 5 to 8 cents per mg
- Gummies: 5 to 8 cents per mg
- Topicals: 5 to 6 cents per mg
- Isolates: 0.4 to 4 cents per mg
- Pet products: 6 to 12 cents per mg
- Vapes: 4 to 9 cents per mg
That’s cheaper than the industry average, especially for products that contain additional minor cannabinoids like CBN, CBG, and CBC. And you can get 25% off by subscribing to monthly deliveries.
Extract Labs also offers a generous 50% discount for veterans, active military, teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals. This is one of the most inclusive and sizable discount programs in the CBD market.
In summary, Extract Labs offers above-average value, but you can find cheaper brands of similar quality.

Hemp Source and Production Process
Extract Labs sources its hemp from local Colorado farmers. Everything else is done in-house in its current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliant facility in Lafayette, Colorado.
Extract Labs uses supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction. The company’s founder Craig Henderson previously worked as a senior sales engineer for Apeks Supercritical, one of the leading experts in CO2 extraction, and he brought his newfound expertise to Extract Labs.
After that, the extracts go through distillation, isolation, chromatography, and formulation in the same facility.
Third-Party Testing
Third-party testing is when CBD companies send their products to independent labs to be tested for potency (cannabinoid content) and purity (heavy metals, pesticides, and other potential contaminants). This is done so that customers can ensure they get safe and accurate products.
Previously, Extract Labs did some of its testing in-house because it has its own accredited CBD testing lab which provides potency and some contaminant testing for most of Extract Labs’ products.
In 2022, Extract Labs switched to Minova Labs as its main third-party testing lab for potency and some contaminants. Some other tests are done by other reputable third-party labs, like ACS Laboratory and Botanacor.
Third-Party Test Results
I always look at third-party lab test results to confirm that CBD companies sell safe, accurate, and effective products. Specifically, I check for:
- The levels of CBD, which should be within 10% of the label (3)
- The levels of minor cannabinoids like CBG and CBC
- The levels of THC
- Whether the CBD type (full, broad-spectrum, or isolate) is accurate
- Whether there are any contaminants

I included the test documents called certificates of analysis (CoAs) for several products:
- The daily support full-spectrum CBD tincture, showing multiple cannabinoids, and accurate CBD levels (33.9 instead of 33.3 mg or only 1.8% more)
- The PM CBN gummies, showing about 30.3 mg CBD/8 mg CBN or 38.3 mg total versus the advertised 30+10 mg (40 total), which is not a bad result overall but low on CBN
- The CBD muscle cream, showing about 1974 mg of CBD instead of the advertised, which is 31.6% more
- The God’s gift CBD extract tank, which showed 85.7% cannabinoids, which is fairly accurate, but didn’t find THC
For the most part, the test results are good. They’re up-to-date and show comprehensive testing for contaminants.
But there are areas to improve, like some full-spectrum products seemingly not containing any THC and others having slightly less or more cannabinoids than advertised.
Shipping & Returns
Extract Labs ships throughout the U.S., with free USPS shipping on orders over $75. The company also ships internationally at a flat rate of $50 and for free when you spend more than $200, with an average delivery time of 4-6 weeks.
Extract Labs has a 60-day money-back guarantee, so if you’re not satisfied with a product after you used it for at least two weeks, you can request a refund. The company also accepts returns for refunds on unopened products within 7 days of delivery (except for shipping costs).
Customer Service & Reputation
Extract Labs is a transparent, reputable CBD vendor with an inspiring backstory. It has over 5,000 satisfied customer reviews praising its products and customer service.
I also like the fact that it offers a large discount to qualifying individuals and donates money to support CBD research at a local university.

The Verdict: Solid Brand, Especially for Minor Cannabinoids & Vapes
There’s a lot to like about Extract Labs. A transparent, ethical brand, it’s stayed true to its humble beginnings as one veteran’s mission to promote natural wellness.
The company does a particularly great job with minor cannabinoid formulations: CBN, CBG, CBC, and others, which are growing in popularity.
It’s also a good option for less common products like concentrates and vapes, which are increasingly hard to find because of the USPS vape shipping ban. The company’s standard CBD offerings are solid too.
But it would be nice to see higher minor cannabinoid concentrations in some products.
