We all want to spend as little as possible to get the best product. Does that apply to CBD oil? Can you find a cheap CBD tincture that’s also good?
The short answer is yes. When it comes to CBD oil, a high price does not necessarily mean high quality. There are plenty of effective, affordable options.
But they’re not easy to find. To help you out, I compared and tested dozens of leading brands based on price, efficacy, third-party lab test results, hemp source, potency, and other criteria. Here’s my review of the best options.

CBD Glossary
- Hemp: cannabis variety with high CBD and low THC levels (no more than 0.3%).
- Terpenes: aromatic plant compounds with various beneficial properties (1).
- Minor cannabinoids: CBN, CBG, CBC, and other beneficial cannabinoids found in smaller amounts in hemp. They may work in synergy with CBD.
- Full-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract containing multiple cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. This form of CBD is about four times more potent than pure CBD (2).
- Broad-spectrum: whole-plant hemp extract similar to full-spectrum CBD, but with THC removed (may contain trace amounts).
- CBD isolate: pure CBD without any other hemp compounds.

Pros:
- Exceptionally low price
- Multiple flavors and bottle sizes
- USDA organic certification
Cons:
- Lacks higher strengths
Founded in 2014, Lazarus Naturals is one of the most popular and respected CBD brands on the market.
Its full-spectrum CBD oil is the overall best & most affordable tincture I’ve ever tried, so much so that it’s my go-to pick. It costs only 2-3 cents per mg of CBD. You can also qualify for free shipping on orders over $50.
This USDA-certified organic oil is available in different sizes and flavors (classic, chocolate mint, strawberry lemonade). Lazarus Naturals grows and extracts its own organic hemp in Central Oregon, which is a big bonus for quality control. It also has a 60% off assistance program.
My experience: This is the most effective and affordable CBD oil I’ve ever used. It’s cheap and has stronger effects than most tinctures of equal and often even higher strength. I’m also a fan of the natural hempy taste.
Alliant Hemp Full-Spectrum CBD Oil (Cheapest)
CBD Potency | 50-200 mg/ml |
Volume | 30 ml |
Total CBD | 1500-6000 mg |
Cost per mg CBD | $0.005-0.01 |
Type | Full-spectrum |

Pros:
- Unbelievably cheap price
- Free shipping
- Extra-high strength available
Cons:
- 6000 mg bottle is low in minor cannabinoids
- No flavored options
If you’re looking for the absolutely lowest price, Alliant Hemp’s full-spectrum CBD oil is the best option. It costs only about 1 cent per mg for the 1500 mg version or a bit more than 0.5 cents per mg for the 6000 mg bottle. This is far and away the lowest price for CBD oil I’ve seen.
But there are a few downsides to this amazingly low price. The oil is not certified organic and the 6000 mg version is low in minor cannabinoids (only about ~4%).
Antonio’s experience: I enjoyed the natural hempy flavor. The 1500 mg tincture didn’t have significant effects, likely due to my high tolerance. But the 6000 mg tincture had noticeable effects for about three hours, including a sense of calm and pain relief in my knees after a hike.

If you’re looking for the most effective, affordable full-spectrum CBD oil, I recommend Upstate Elevator Supply Co. Its tinctures have a high amount (10-14%) of minor cannabinoids that work in synergy with CBD.

Upstate Elevator Supply Co. is Vermont’s top CBD brand. It grows its own USDA-certified organic strains of hemp suited specifically for Vermont’s climate.

Medterra is another top-tier CBD company with affordable prices. If you’re looking for a cheap, THC-free CBD oil, I recommend its ultra broad-spectrum tinctures.
They’re guaranteed to contain at least a 10:1 ratio of CBD to minor cannabinoids, which is impressive for a broad-spectrum (THC-free) product. You can choose from unflavored, citrus, and chocolate mint flavors.
Medterra’s products are sourced from organic Colorado hemp and go through comprehensive third-party testing. They’re also certified by the U.S. Hemp Authority, which highlights a commitment to leading hemp production standards.
My experience: I took a full dropper of the 2000 mg citrus-flavored tincture. The taste was nice and mild and I felt the effects kick in about 20 minutes after, feeling relaxed and calm for several hours.

If you need cheap, high-potency CBD oil, I recommend R&R. Its full-spectrum CBD oil has a strength of 167 mg/ml: one of the strongest on the market.
It’s USDA-certified organic and comes in natural and fresh mint flavors. R&R is a highly reputable brand out of Colorado that uses USDA-certified organic hemp.
My experience: I tested out the 2500 mg tincture, which had a pleasant, mild mint taste. The effects were some of the strongest I’ve experienced from any CBD oil; I felt relaxed and had an easier time falling asleep.

What’s Considered a Cheap CBD Oil?
The easiest way to compare the prices of CBD oil, or any CBD product for that matter, is by the price per milligram (mg) of CBD. For example, if a CBD oil costs $50 and contains 500 mg of CBD, that means you’re paying 50/500 = $0.10 per mg.
So, how much should you pay for cheap CBD oil?
Roughly speaking, the prices of CBD oil can be divided into three tiers:
- Cheap: $0.01–0.05 per mg
- Average: $0.06–0.11 per mg
- High: $0.12+ per mg
That means a cheap CBD oil should cost anywhere from 1 to 4 cents per mg of CBD. However, keep in mind that CBD prices will continue to decrease as time goes on and the industry matures, so we can expect lower prices in the future.
Money-saving tip: To get the best deal when buying CBD oil, get the bottle that contains the most CBD. This significantly reduces the cost per mg of CBD, can sometimes qualify for free shipping, and the tincture will last you much longer before you need another one.
How I Chose These CBD Oils
I’ve used hundreds of CBD oils. For this list, I started out with about 30 affordable brands, and then narrowed it down to 10 CBD oils with the best combination of price and quality. I then narrowed down my options again for my six final picks. Here are the criteria I used:
- Effects (to find the most effective CBD oils)
- Price (I looked for products with a low price per mg of CBD)
- Third-party testing (to make sure the CBD levels and other claims are accurate)
- Type of CBD (Full-spectrum is best but broad-spectrum is needed for people who avoid THC)
- Product potency (to get the best effects and avoid weak products)
- Hemp source (quality plants mean an effective CBD extract)
- Company reputation (to verify the company can be trusted)

Thank you most helpful information very concise
None of these are actually cheap. There’s a hemp glut and these prices are still too high. I guess when you get a kickback you have to plug the hand that feeds you. Please research actually good prices. 300mg of CBD is nowhere near worth $40-60. That’s insane.
I’d love to check out other cheap brands if you have suggestions. And I agree Fab CBD is a bit on the expensive side, I’m looking to replace it with another cheaper option that has many flavors.
